QA
Engineer Participated in the quality assurance of Symmetrix software to be incorporated onto the Symmetrix Storage Unit. (EMC2) - The Symmetrix Storage platform is widely distributed throughout the world and has an unparalleled level of security and reliability so QA engineering on their system was carried out to a strict set of rules. - I worked as a part of the QAConfig group and we stressed the software and Equipment to its limit as much as possible, we set up numerous configurations of the systems and tested them very stringently to find and report bugs. - The software and fixes we were testing always had to be perfect as the end result was it would be integrated into EMC2 next code release. - Regression testing was a big part of our daily testing to ensure that previous problems didn’t reoccur, regression testing was automated in a lot of cases and could be easily implemented using EMC2 in house system. Reporting of these tests and clearing the system for the next user was the main work load when doing regression. I also ensured that systems running regression code levels could be updated to the new code levels if the customer required. - I also had to monitor and benchmark some of the tests to compare test runs from an old regression next to the latest code release. |

Core Skill Profile
Team Leading / Project Management |
Team leader responsible for my class’s third year project. This included planning and scheduling every aspect of the project from conception to completion, including assigning roles to members of my class. I was also responsible for a sizeable amount of the programming and software engineering on top of my responsibilities as a team leader, which also entailed design of environment and data-setup, resourcing, project control and review of test plan execution and results documentation, issue and risk management, configuration and a small amount of version control. |
Presentation skills |
I have had numerous presentations during college and as a result of working in retail I feel I have no problems standing in front of a group of people and giving a presentation which is clearly legible and delivers everything required of the presentation to the audience. |

Personal Interests
I'm
usually found in my spare time messing with some form of electronics, it helped working in Maplin Electronics and Harvey Normans, I also ran numerous websites and
still own a few “dotcoms”. I unfortunately don't have time for sports at the moment but when I did
I played hurling with my local club. I still play on occasion with my friends.
Being class representative also meant I arranged the occasional class party and enjoyed the social aspect of those parties.
